Projects can be evaluated a number of ways. We tend to develop a structured evaluation protocol, which might look like this:

  1. Initial Evaluation – summary of existing written project briefs, AKC evaluation reports, project descriptions. Also consider changes in the healthcare delivery system in the region.

  2. User Surveys, including site managers, end-users, project administrators

  3. Responses to any questions about the written material via e-mail.

  4. A one to two hour telephone discussion per project with project staff.

  5. More Detailed Examination, typically including an all-day site visit. Site visit offers an opportunity for both the reviewers and the project to learn.
